Lau Tzu, Somehow PART 1
Made about 30 doodles while cold-calling at my day job.
Mental survival tactic. Lau Tzu: non-existent.My mom said: “You should put these on T-shirts.”
Had not considered that.Asked a friend how to make the doodles digital.
“You need to vectorize them.”
To what them?Used one of those “put anything on a T-shirt” websites.
What a time to be alive.Thought: maybe other people would actually like it.
No. Only I am weird enough.Suddenly concerned Lau Tzu might become too cool and successful.
Assigned the doodles supernatural powers to reduce the risk. -

LAU TZU, SOMEHOW PART 2
Planned the first launch.
Changed everything.Planned the second launch.
Apparently learned nothing.Fell in love with making wall art a little too much.
Launch postponed.Realized Lau Tzu needed its own soundtrack.
Launch postponed. Obviously.Recorded Instagram pre-launch reel 1.
Needed help posting it. Also needed to be calmed down.2 years, 6 months and 16 days of overcomplicating things later: LAUNCH TZU.
Now what?

WHY 'LAU TZU' PART 1
The name Lau Tzu is a playful nod to Lao Tzu, the ancient Chinese philosopher whose name can be read as both “Old Master” and, more literally, “Old Child.”
That contradiction felt strangely right.
What happens when something ancient takes on a younger form?
Lao became Lau.
A small twist on my own name, Laurens.
Old became new.
Philosophy became art. -
"LAU TZU. Old child. NEW WORLD."

WHY 'LAU TZU' PART 2
A name rooted in ancient wisdom found its way into a world of streetwear, sound, wall art, storytelling and whatever else Lau Tzu decides to become.
Not a revival of the old.
A reminder that timeless ideas can keep changing shape.
Welcome to Lau Tzu.
Old child. New world.
